Ashtead Parish supports many mission societies in projects all over the world. As well as that we support specific individuals:
Zion Harvest Mission
Rev, Lico Bascuñan
South American Mission Society (SAMS)
Rev. Lico was discipled by Rev. Simon Thomas and is now one of the pastors of the Anglican Church: "Christ, Light of the World" in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. He is leading a church plant in the outskirts of the city in a rented building partially financed by the Church in Ashtead.
Sue Essam
Church Mission Society (CMS) and Mothers' Union Link
Sue is the Administrative Chaplain to the Bishop of Jos in Nigeria and the acting Dean of The Christian Institute, which is the Diocesan Theological College. Sue teaches courses on Community Health & Evangelism and Music & Mission. Sue also writes Bible Study material and is the Director of Music at St Luke's Cathedral.
Louise (née Peck) and Tony Hargreaves with Amaris & George
Youth with a Mission YWAM
Tony, Louise and family are now back in the UK after 4 years working within a ministry called "The Cleft" in the Red Light area of Amsterdam, where they were reaching out to addicts and prostitutes who work behind the windows and on the streets, to the homeless and also children living in the area.
Grace McWilliams
Youth Worker, Stepney, East London, working with children and youth, many of whom have very damaged lives.
Wade and Katharine Robertson
Youth with a Mission YWAM, Seamill Centre, Scotland. Wade and Katharine have worked with YWAM in Scotland since 1991. They live in West Kilbride near to the Seamill Centre which is YWAM's main training centre. Wade's work includes leadership development training, serving as part of overseeing various parts of the work. Katharine does some discipleship training and she is presently a full time theology student in Glasgow.
Jeremy & Penny Weightman with Barney
Youth with a Mission YWAM, England. Jeremy and Penny Weightman are working in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Now in their final year of a 5 year commitment, Jeremy is working within YWAM's communications. Jeremy's main role is to come up with the words for magazines, websites and other display board publications. Penny is the production editor for a magazine called Cell UK Magazine, published by one of the groups based at the YWAM centre.
