Services

St Giles 10am

We are a lively and friendly congregation, where people of all ages can come and meet with God in worship and become part of a loving and generous community.

Our Sunday services, meeting from 10-11am in St Giles' Church, are relaxed and informal with a predominantly contemporary style of worship. Our music is led by a modern style worship group, but, in keeping with our beautiful 12th century building,  we also value and include elements that are more traditional and allow time for reflection.

With around 150 adults and children attending each week, there is a tangible family atmosphere where people know and care for one another. Regular members are encouraged to take an active part in contributing to the running of our Sunday services and the life of the congregation.

Our worship and fellowship extends beyond Sunday services with church members meeting regularly during the week in home groups and other informal gatherings. We also seek to put our faith into action through serving the local community and actively supporting mission partners in this country and overseas.

We have an all-age 'donut' service every fourth Sunday of the month, with music, teaching and drama to engage the whole family. On other weeks, the children join in for the first part of the service, including communion on the first Sunday of the month, before going down to the hall for their groups.

There are around 30 children in 3 groups: Scramblers (ages 3-4), Climbers (ages 5-7), and Explorers (ages 8-11). Younger children can use the creche in the church vestry and older children can attend the House or LIFE groups, which meet at St George's.

Visitors and newcomers will receive a warm welcome, and all are invited to come down to the hall for coffee after the service.  If you would like to find out whether this is a place where you could belong and grow in your Christian faith, we would love to see you!
